Here it comes, y'all. A storm of "conscience clause" or provider refusal media is about to head our way, aimed at convincing us that asking a doctor to honor patients' rights will drive them out of their field.
By the way, Catholic hospitals manage about 1 in 5 beds in the US. Providers at most of these hospitals are subject to the Catholic church's Ethical and Religious Directives (ERDs) which restrict reproductive and end of life services. Just today the USCCB announced they are revising their policy regarding artificial nutrition and hydration (ANH) to be mandatory care, not to be denied by the patient or their family in any case, including that of persistent vegetative state patients.

I have heard that this book you link to may not have completely reputable information in it but thanks for the link. I'll have to check it out myself.
