Stupid Economy.

It's been a long time since I worked for Investor's Business Daily or The Street.com so I must admit that I'm not as up on our financial health as I used to be.

The chaos of the markets, surge in gas prices, mortgage foreclosures, and the recent Freddie/Fannie scare has me confused - and worried - so I've been reading up.

If you want a quick look at the stats with some analysis that explains our current financial pickle, check out New Deal Democrat's blog over at dailykos.com.

NDD and others conclude that the erosion of New Deal economic policies over the years since Roosevelt have led us into a situation where the brakes that were placed to prevent a crash are no longer working.
Hold on tight and hope that an incoming Democrat in November helps bolster our status in the world, and helps our elected officials to start reigning in corporations. Although after the FISA vote last week, it's hard to be optimistic.
